CALL FOR ABSTRACTS NOW OPEN

This is the Call for Abstracts for the 13th Symposium on Cochlear Implants in Children. Abstract Submission Instructions:

  1. All Abstracts must be submitted electronically at the end of this page. Forms received by email or fax will not be considered.
  2. All users must create a profile. Please enter your contact information, including your email address.
  3. You will receive an email indicating your username and password to sign-in.
  4. Once you are successfully signed-in, you may change your temporary password.

Abstract Submission Guidelines:

  • Please click here for a description of encouraged abstract topics.
  • Abstracts are limited to a maximum of 500 words.
  • There is no limit to the number of abstracts you may submit. Your username and password will remain the same.
  • Please use correct spellings for the title, authors, and presenter.
  • Abstracts too brief, or those containing insufficient data, will not be favorably considered by the Program Committee.
  • Do not reference any hospital or institution in the body of the abstracts.
  • There are a number of excellent opportunities for oral and poster presentations. Oral presentations are 8 minutes in length, plus a brief Q&A session. You may indicate a preference for a podium presentation or a poster presentation when the abstract is submitted. Presentation format will be determined by the Program Committee
  • All presenters must be registered for the meeting. Presenters are responsible for their registration fee and travel related expenses.
  • Questions regarding the submission process may be forwarded to cochlear@facs.org


Abstract Block: The abstract must include a brief description of the study objective(s), methodology, results and relevance of the findings.

Corrections: Proofread carefully. Correct all mistakes before submitting your abstract online. You will have the opportunity to edit your submission online until you decide to finalize your submission. (last step)

Scholarships: CI2011 currently is applying for funding to support a special mentored doctoral poster session. Funding would be used to cover a portion of the expenses related to travel, hotel and registration costs for the awardees selected by the Program Committee. If you would like your submitted abstract to be considered for this session, you may so indicate during the abstract submission process. Further requirements and details then will be sent to you.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this award, the primary presenter must be a predoctoral student (e.g., M.D., PhD, AuD), or a medical resident or postdoctoral fellow in a field of study relevant to the field of cochlear implantation.

Selected Abstracts: Authors of selected abstracts will be asked to submit a paper to be included in a dedicated issue of Otology & Neurotology.

Notification of acceptance and all other correspondence related to the meeting will be sent by March 1, 2011.

Your Program Committee can organize the best program possible if there are a large number of abstracts to be considered. Please be generous in submitting your best work. We look forward to seeing you in 2011 for another outstanding scientific and social meeting.
